Harry potter fever?

Lots of my friends are crazy for it. They watched it after exam. Straight after the last paper, chemistry. They watched it! CRAZYYYY!

for me, Harry Potter is like nothing to me. Cause my parents doesnt allow me to watch it. As they said, im too good at imagining stuffs and when I watch it, I will definitely get into the wizardry and magical stuffs. Might influence my thoughts? I dont know! neither the movie nor the novel. Oh well, to be honest, I watched part of it at my cousin's house when I was really young. just part of the movie only. but obviously I forgot it xD

I remembered I get to one of the souvenir shop in Movie World, Aus. There's a shop which sells harry potter's equipment, lots of 'brooms', fake spider webs and potion there. I dont think it's nice AT ALL. They just looked like stuffs in the store room..just kidding

:P But when I told my friend, they are amazed and they plan to go to the hp land in US when they are older o.o they are really addicted to it. Almost like worshiping it which is very sad.

The bible teaches that we should seek only one source of power, which is the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Be filled with the Spirit" Ephesians 5:18. So, avoid yourselves from getting into temptation that will influence(in the bad way) from God. Always FOCUS ON GOD!

AMAZED by what I had done throughout this exam week

studied 3 chapters , like about 100++ pages of chemi in one afternoon

looked through all the exam paper and essays I done in last exam and it's like WOW! how could I answer them? haha

Did lots of last minutes study (as usual)

Had lots of good meals :P

Eat a lot, really a lot. Need to lose weight!

Get to burn midnight oil ( Success!!!)

Get to wake up on 3pm (Success for a few days only but still consider success! cause usually I will just wake up and turn off the alarm)

and also amazed at how I memorize things (all by using imagination! Visualize the chemical names!)

I think I'd use the WRONG study method. jut not accurate.

As they said, the best study method is to take notes, highlight, focus on the teachings.. revise what u learnt at home..mind mapping..So, the key is I NEED TO REVISE WHAT I HAD LEARNT everyday! really hard to do that but seriously, I shall.

It's F-U-N. I know, people might think it's kind of weird in saying spot check is FUN but it really is! need to experience it, then u will found the FUN.

For me, sc is like playing treasure hunt. All you need to do is to hunt the phone and prohibited stuffs. And it's like... grand treasure=cell phone. hahaha.J

But sadly, I didnt found any treasure today. Two of my friends did.

The crazy part is at last, All of us found ourselves addicted to sc.

So, here is his solution:

joined the CARRER GAME on the last few days. It's really great! Awesome... I should say :D

recall from the first day. When I enter the hall, I need to let the officers to check my luggages. And they confiscated my two cute friend, which is a seal and dolphin soft toy :P They said they might harm the health of Free City. *by the way, I'm living in Free City* and we use free city cash. In chinese it is known as 自币 which sounds really alike as自闭..haha

Glad to be a citizen in SAND BAY . Citizen with yellow strip!!! It means I'm as high class citizen and I owns a car (mini copper oh!!!) Being a high class citizen was fun because you will have lots of special treatment but need to pay lots of fees and tax :O And I was the first runner up in one of the event in Intersports competition. Before that, we had assembly which leaded by HANDSOME principal.. that's how the principal call himself. BUT we also got a tour guide which named VERY HANDSOME tour guide.

so, here are the wonderful journey in 'my life'. p.s/ it's not my real life.. IT'S JUST A G-A-M-E! I studied diploma and apply to work as cashier at city hall but failed. Therefore, I spent more money to study for bachelor. And finally I became a nurse in Free City University...wheee. I got the highest pay in the city :D and of course I need to upgrade myself for a better income. So I studied very hard for doctorate and spent really lots of money and time there. I assume I will get the job as a doctor in the hospital, not a nurse anymore! BUT life's always full of unexpected things. My master dont allow me to become a doctor after three times of interview. 3 TIMES MAN!!! I want to become a doctor so badly because the pay is really high! WOW. So I resign my job as a nurse and plan to find a high pay and better job :) I had a hard time after I get my doctorate which is very without discrepancy! At last, I became an insurance manager...wheeeeeeeee!!! the boss is very nice :) not very high pay but I enjoy it. Tried a brand new experience. Ohh yea.. i get married when I was 34 years old..haha. And I was 43 years old when it ends.

The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.

so, you need to set the GOAL of yourself and keep on going!!!!

You wont know the feeling or lesson learned until you join it!

HAHAHA. Many people take ballet as an interest. For Russians, they take it as a job. As for me, I just take it as an exercise.

Below is a guide for anyone who doesn’t know how the exams work or would like some useful help in preparing for them.

The exam consists of playing three pieces, some scales & arpeggios, sight reading and doing some aural tests.

It is marked out of 150 with 100 required to pass. 120 = merit 130 = distinction

THREE PIECES...................................30 marks each

One chosen by the candidate from each of the three lists A, B & C

These are to be chosen from the list in the grade 1 music book or from alternative pieces shown in the front of the book but as this will require you to buy yet more music I usually stick with the ones in the main ABRSM book.

SCALES & ARPEGGIOS .............................21 marks

These must be played from memory.

SIGHT READING............................................21 marks

The most important thing to do is to keep going. Total points 21

AURAL TESTS................................................18 marks

There are four different types of aural test

Total points 30 + 30 + 30 + 21 + 21 + 18 = 150

Bray’s tips

PIECES

Make sure that you know your pieces well and observe the dynamics. Although you are allowed to be counted in at the start, it's much better if you indicate this by breathing in on the up beat. I’ll explain this later nearer the exam. You are not expected to do any repeats unless it is only a couple of bars long although the Da Capo should be observed. Don’t throw your violin down with the excitement of finishing the piece especially if it has a quiet ending; try standing still to achieve a better effect. If it’s a happy piece try smiling.

SCALES & ARPEGGIOS

Only a selection of the scales and arpeggios will be asked for but as you don’t know which ones you’ll need to learn them all. They should be played at a comfortable speed (but without being too slow) and with confidence.

SIGHT READING

Many pupils find this the most worrying part of the exam. The most important thing is to keep going. You need to keep a steady pulse and observe the key signature. Don’t rush. You are given 30 seconds or so to look at the music. Use this time wisely to work out any difficult rhythms or notes. Don’t attempt to play it all through as there will not be enough time. Just attempt the beginning and the end. Don’t panic. Often pupils play the difficult bits well because they are concentrating yet will play easy bars wrong. If you make a mistake, ignore it and carry on rather than stopping to go back to the mistake to have another go. Try to observe the dynamics as this can get you several easy points.

AURAL

There are 4 main aural tests
A. You are required to tap the pulse of a passage of music played by the examiner on the piano. This will be in either 2 or 3 time. When the music starts you are to join in as soon as possible by clapping the beat. Then you need to stress where the main 1st beat falls. Clap the first beat loudly with the other beats softly. ONE two, ONE two, ONE two………….or……….ONE two three, ONE two three, ONE two three…….

B. You will be asked to sing, as an echo, three short phrases played by the examiner.
He/she will first play the key chord followed by the tonic note and finally the pulse will be given. On hearing the phrase you must repeat it as soon as the passage ends. Sing with confidence using “Lah” rather than humming or using some other kind of squeak.

C. You will be asked to spot the rhythmic difference between two almost identical two bar phrases. If you find it difficult to explain in words the difference between the 2 you can try to sing the 2 versions. You can use terms like “the first time the first note was longer than the second playing” or “instead of the last two notes being even, the second time they were dotted”

D. You will be played a short piece of music on the piano and be asked questions about it. The examiner will choose one or two topics from the list below and ask you questions after the piece has been played. The questions will be limited to the following. Try to use Italian terms where possible

i) Contrasted dynamics (p/f piano/forte)………………quiet/ loud
ii) Graduation of tone (crescendo / diminuendo) ……. getting louder / getting quieter
iii) Articulation. (staccato / legato) …………. Music played short and detached / smoothly

As you can see you can't pass just by playing your pieces well. The scales need to be learnt.The aural tests and the sight reading need to be worked on. Good luck !

Oh no..

Hundreds killed in tsunami after 8.9 Japan quake

I was totally shocked when I got this news. Everyone's like warning NOT GO TO THE BEACH or anywhere near the sea, estimating the beautiful land below the wind, SABAH might get affected. around 6 pm to 12am :( Everyone's like so worry in facebook. Posting something like 'meet you in heaven'.. sort of things... o.o

It's now 5:52 am (the next day)! and I am still alive xD Praise the Lord!

ohhh.. didnt update this blog for centuries..
nehhh. So, not much people use blogger/blogspot now?
for me, blogger is quite nice. YEA..blogger returns!

So, form yesterday. I went to ballet class and it was BAD, really bad. I just manage to do the bar work nicely :( For the center work, I can't jump bouncily/ springily. I really hope I could fix a spring on my legs xD ballet exam's coming soon, so soon and I'm not ready yet! sighs.. I know, I didnt practice the steps 'physically', just 'run' the steps in my mind whenever I'm day dreaming :P

I found that I learn too many things. I mean learning different things is good but I just don't manage do all of them well, didnt focus on any of them. non of them is outstanding. Sometimes, I think of dropping some of them but it's not worthy! In chinese, I'm like 半桶水 in everything. Maybe not half lah, 20% :P How I wish I could overflow all the buckets!!!

Holiday, here I come!

So, early in he morning, when I reached school, I found that some words are written on my able. It’s written by Yenny.

Yeah.... when I look into the drawer, There's a present =) Thanks for the bottle, Yenny. It's one of my wish! When I get back to my seat, a present is on my table. Wow! You guys move so fast! Thanks vanny, Miko and LSB. The bear is adorable ><

Thanks to Joey. They are nice. And thanks to Kelly. The presen is so enormous! I almost dunno how to bring back home…..haha….(just kidding) Oh ya, before Kelly and joey, Jennifer also present me! And special thanks to Rowena and Miko… for playing countdown.

During lunch time, mum brought me pizza! Yummy…. I’d share them with some of my friends cause as you know that…. SHARING BRINGS HAPPINESS! xD When I’m on the way home, my brother, Nelson present me a pencil case. It’s practical but for me, I feel happy to have a brother like this, present me every year!

I also found a picture of violin on my study table. It’s painted by Nelson too. Tell him if you like it …xD. So, my room’s light turns off suddenly and birthday songs come into my ears. They are holding the cake which present by Aunty Jasmine. Blow it, cut it, and eat it. Yea.. That’s a bit traditional.

I almost receive gifts every day. So nice…

On Monday, I got a lot of present from my friends… thanks guys!

Yesterday was E2 multiplication dinner. It was awesome. We play ice-breakers (yay! we play two yesterday), we share, we talk, we hug...e.t.c.... Thanks God, E2 had multiply into two groups , E2 and E5. However, we are still a BIG FAMILY! After that, we have pizza and ice-cream float as dinner. Yay! We will continue to have faith in the Lord! =)

woohoo~ long time didn't upload! The modem's fault! and Just back from Singapore. (hmm.... already a week o.0 ) okay.. stop those nonsense, let me share some 'journey' in the trip.

The First Day (excited!)29/5/2009

Wow. Report card DAY! Dad took my report card early in the morning. Phew... not that bad (better than my estimation, I estimate I will get the last place in J2 Zhi xD)..... During the period of Geography, dad came to my class. I lefe earlier because we were rushing to the airport. Go back home, change clothes... shoooooo.. on the car , check in... boo.. on the plane. Nelson, my brother didn’t get on the same flight. It was because he’s going to his Guitar teacher’s party. Enjoy~ So, dad’d postpone his ticket to 30^th of May. When we ( Dad + Mum + Cherish + Cheryl) reached Sg, we find our ‘resort’. It was at Lucky Plaza. Then, we go shop shop shop… ~~haha.. but not shop till drop~~ Oh ya, and during the checling of H1N1, Cherish was caught. Luckily her temperature was under 40 degree Celsius. Thanks God! Woohoo! Singapore’s ON SALE. So, you can see a lot of ‘posters’ by the way. It wrote everything’s on sale except this.XXXXX.

Day 2 (Cola dayyy!) 30/5/2009

Nel had reached Sg this afternoon. And we rode on the “hippo bus” today. Nice view =) By the way, we also got FREE COLA (promotion of cola zero). I’d get about 3 bottles of it. It tastes nice, especially having a cold drink in the hot day!

Day 3 (I like Sentosa!) 31/5/2009

It was Sunday. As usual, church day! Today, we went to dad’s ex-church ( he used to come here when he was studying in sg). The church’s name is Grace (S.O.C) Church. The worhip was not bad. After that, we’d our lunch. We also pay a visit to a now shopping mall, it was super stylish!

Before to Sentosa, I went to the National Geography’s shop. It was so adventurous, full of ….(can’t explain the feeling)…….. And now, I’d finally found that, being a Malaysian is not bad at all. We got a lot of promotion. For eample, we get half price for ticket to sentosa, ticket of the “hippo bus”. =) I LIKE SENTOSA! Well… Nelson’s the DONKEY =p. He got 0 marks(first round mah) in a game called DESPERADOS. While mum and I was in the top 5..yay! Actually, I really hopeto be the donkey! It’s fun. Merlion, it looks brave. We also go into its tummy, head and mouth…lolxl…. Mummy’s so lucky. She got the best souvenir of the day . We also get a photo in merlion’s mouth. After that, we got ride on the Sk.. It was pretty cool! New product? In the evening, we also rent 3 bicycle. We go round and round and round. It was very relax while watching the others playing volley ball, having picnic……Sound of the sea….. ahh… sweet memories. We do enjoy ourselves there.

This evening at 8.30pm, hundreds of millions of people around the world will turn their lights off for one hour – WWF's Earth Hour – to show global leaders that they want strong action to tackle climate change.

I was in youth during '8:30-9:30'. During 'the hour' , we prayed and those senior shared with us their trip to Sibu. (It sounds FUN!) Of course, they also presented some wonderful songs to us! I enjoy it very very very much, it's sooooooo NICE!

I'm soooOOOoo free today. It was because my event(long jump) was over. I'm in Green House. Green House so 'gai'. NO GOOD RUNNERS! so.... most of us(Michelle Shim, Apple Tan, Vinnie, Pui Pui...e.t.c) are in GREEN HSE!

Early in the morning, I met Vanessa and Chung Li... so, we go to Thai Sheng, coz CL wants to buy something T.T After that, I met Apple, Fiona there. So.. juz follow them ~ After that, it's 400m competiton. woohoo... Kelly is the champion!(Yellow house again:( ). However, Fiona is the champion of 800m, Kelly's the 1st runner up while Dulcie is the 2nd runner up.

I'm so bored today.So hot today! Almost sunburn.

The Sport Day's finally here. yay. Blue house is the winner, Yellow- 1st runner up while green house- 2nd runner up:)

I am soooOOo today!

2 TEST in a day, (normal) - SEJ & GEO,

haiz... SEJ.... study a lot but not enough time to do! The teacher was late to our class and she give us 10 min to study.... left 10+ min!! How can I finished the TEST in 10+ min? I'm nooob!!! NooOOOooB needs a lot of time to do!So, I didn't finish on time. I use my 'lan xi' gun (tembak) 8++ questions.
